2008 Summer Exhibitions
Priscilla Hoekstra and Annette Houston, both Dirigo Road Gallery member artists, are exhibiting Art Quilts at the Thomas College Gallery , West River Road, Waterville, from August 1-28th, in a show by Art Quilts Maine called "A Sense of Place". Reception for the artists August 1st, 5-7 pm.
Priscilla Hoekstra is exhibiting at the Valley Arts Alliance Showcase at 66 Main Street, Newport until August 31st. Daily , M-F, 9am -4 pm
Grace Keown, Connie Henderson and Annette Houston are exhibiting in a brand new venue this year - Tim Horton's Restaurant in Newport, ME. The group show, which includes other area artists, was selected around the theme of "Water". We are very appreciative of Tim Horton's management in featuring this ongoing venue to local artists and at the same time providing patrons with quality artwork for viewing and sale. 10% of sales will go toward the Tim Horton's Children's Charity. The current exhibit runs through Aug. 31st, and will be replaced by another 2-month showing with a flower and still-life theme.
2008 MOFGA Common Ground Country Fair Poster Winner
January 2008 - Grace Keown, member and co-founder of Dirigo Road Gallery and Artists Cooperative was the winner of the 2008 Maine Organic Farmers & Gardeners Association (MOFGA) Common Ground Country Fair poster contest. Her design will be featured on this year's poster, t-shirts and assorted fair memorabilia for the Fair, which is in its 32nd year. DIRIGO ROAD GALLERY SUPPORTS MPBN April, 2008 – Five artists from Dirigo Road Gallery have donated artwork in support of Maine Public Broadcasting’s annual fundraiser – the MPBN Great TV Auction and Juried Art Show. The work of Connie Henderson and Grace Keown was accepted into MPBN’s Juried Art Show, which will hang at L/A Arts Gallery 5 in Lewiston the month of June. All juried art will be auctioned off at a live, one-day event July 12th, at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath. The art of Annette Houston, Shari Brann and Pam Peltier will be auctioned off May 2 – 11, 2008, during MPBN’s annual Great TV Auction. All artwork may be viewed now at www.mpbn.org.
